In the rapidly growing medical cannabis industry, LIV CBD aimed to launch a new, high-quality line of CBD products located in Oklahoma City, OK. They needed a cohesive brand identity that would resonate with their audience and stand out in an increasingly competitive market. From July 2023 to February 2024, I had the pleasure of working with LIV CBD as their Logo and Graphic Designer, tasked with creating their logo and packaging designs.

The Challenge

LIV CBD wanted to appeal to health-conscious consumers looking for natural relief without the stigma often associated with cannabis products. My mission was to craft a visual identity that communicated the brand's commitment to purity, transparency, and well-being while ensuring the design was flexible enough for a variety of products, including tinctures, capsules, and topical creams.

The Logo Design

The design process began with understanding LIV CBD’s core values: health, natural healing, and trust. I drew inspiration from organic shapes and earthy tones to create a logo that reflected the brand's essence. The final logo features:

  • Symbolism: A minimalist yet recognizable leaf symbol, representing the natural origins of the product.
  • Typography: Clean, modern typeface with soft edges to convey a sense of calm and approachability.
  • Color Palette: A soothing blend of greens and blues to reflect the brand’s focus on natural ingredients and holistic wellness.

The logo was designed to be versatile, working seamlessly across digital platforms, product packaging, and marketing materials.

Packaging Design

Packaging was a critical aspect of the project, as it would be the first point of contact for many customers. The design needed to be both functional and visually appealing, with a focus on eco-friendly materials that align with the brand’s commitment to sustainability. For the packaging, I implemented:

  • Minimalist Aesthetic: Clean lines and ample white space to give the packaging a fresh and modern look.
  • Clear Communication: Easy-to-read labels with transparent information about product benefits, dosage, and ingredients.
  • Brand Consistency: Each product line maintained a cohesive look while differentiating itself through subtle color variations based on the product type (e.g., calming blue for sleep aids, vibrant green for energy boosters).

Outcome

The new brand identity was completed for LIV CBD in February 2024, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. The logo and packaging not only communicate trust and quality but also align with LIV CBD’s mission of promoting natural wellness through the power of CBD.

Working with LIV CBD was a rewarding experience that allowed me to combine my passion for design with a project that positively impacts people's lives. I'm proud to have contributed to a brand that brings relief and healing to so many.
